Global Studies Passport Program

Take Global Studies courses at UW-Madison, earn Madison College credit.
Through the Global Studies Passport program, Madison College students now have access to more than 60 courses in global studies and world languages at UW-Madison. Credits earned via this program reverse transfer to Madison College to count towards graduation requirements.

This program is open to students enrolled in the Madison College Interdisciplinary Global Studies Certificate. You can earn the Global Studies Certificate by taking 15 credits of global studies and world language courses. It is a great way to make your resume stand out by demonstrating global knowledge and skills. Anyone can register for the Interdisciplinary Global Studies Certificate through the certificate application process.

Courses available include a list of global studies and language offerings developed in partnership between UW-Madison and Madison College.

Madison College students participate in the program by enrolling in selected courses through UW–Madison’s special student program. They are subject to special student tuition and regulations. Enrollment in this program does not constitute admission to a degree program at UW–Madison.

Courses are subject to UW-Madison special student tuition rates.

Courses you take through this program earn credit at UW-Madison and count toward cumulative GPA for UW. Credit (but NOT grades) is also transferred to Madison College and can be used toward completion of Madison College degree or certificate requirements.

This program is made possible by cooperation between the UW–Madison International Division, the area studies centers within the Division’s Institute for Regional and International Studies (IRIS), UW Adult Career and Special Student Services, and Madison College’s Center for International Education and School of Arts and Sciences. Support for this partnership is being provided in part through the U.S. Department of Education’s Title VI program.
