First-Generation Student Success

Did you know that half of all Madison College students are among the first in their family to attend college? Congratulations on your achievement! We're proud and happy you're here – and have many resources to help you succeed.
Alpha Alpha Alpha Honor Society
- Madison College is the first Wisconsin chapter of this honor society that recognizes the academic achievements of first-generation college students
- The induction ceremony occurs each November in conjunction with our First-Generation Student Celebration
- Student dues are $20 for a lifetime membership
- Complete the Tri-Alpha application
- Staff/Faculty/Administrators: You can also join Tri-Alpha for a $40 lifetime membership fee, which supports our own first-generation students and programming. Email RISE for details on how to join
"I'm First" Student Club
- This club supports first-generation students by creating resources, outreach and awareness to students
- We meet monthly to build bridges to engage first-generation alumni and students
- Learn more about clubs
The "I'm First" Scholarship
- This is a newly established scholarship that will award the first recipients in 2021

- In 2017, Dr. Daniels released this video regarding our inaugural First-Generation Student Celebration. This is now an annual event
