Constitution Day

Madison College observes Constitution Day each year on or around September 17. The federal holiday recognizes the adoption of the U.S. Constitution and celebrates citizenship. This annual event is coordinated through Student Life.

National Constitution Day 2021 Events

  • Presentation by Dr. Maurice Sheppard (Virtual)
    • Dr. Maurice Sheppard, political science instructor, has recorded a short presentation about the history & relevance of the US Constitution.
  • Constitution & Citizenship Day BINGO (Virtual)
    • Learn more about the Constitution and Bill of Rights, citizenship, and branches of government in this fun and interactive virtual BINGO event hosted by Dr. Justine Shuey. Events are live online and include a chance to win Amazon e-giftcards!

  • Coffee, Croissants & Constitutions (In Person)
    • ​​​​​​​Student Life staff will be roaming the halls of the Truax Main Building on Friday, September 17 from 11 am – noon distributing free coffee, croissants, and copies of the US Constitution. Find us for your free coffee break and resources to learn more about the Constitution!​​​​​​​

Voter Registration

Voter registration information is available through the Student Life office or the State of Wisconsin Elections Commission. Registration materials are also distributed throughout an election season at campus events, election tabling and debate broadcasts.
