Ceramics 2: Wheel Throwing

Ceramics 2 is for both beginning and continuing wheel throwers. Topics covered include forming techniques as well as decorating and glazing.  

Intro Jewelry/Metals Rings

This is a beginning level class that focuses on the fundamentals of jewelry and metalsmithing. Students will create rings while learning basic techniques such as sawing, piercing, filing, sanding, texturing, soldering, finishing, and bezel stone setting. Projects are predetermined but open to interpretation based upon your own design aesthetic. Must be 18 or over. 

Fabric Collage Compositions

Free your mind and exercise your creativity with an easy project. Play with color, print, and texture while composing a hand-sewn fabric collage. Embroidery, mending and other stitching techniques will be utilized to embellish and add dimension to the piece. Final piece can become a wall hanging, a tote bag, a pillow or other item.

Floral Embroidery

Embellish your wares! Embroidery is a great way to spruce up old worn garments or simply give them a fresh appearance. It's a great time to be thinking about prints and patterns, too. Learn some easy-to-follow embroidery techniques to create your own embellishing patterns. This is also a great way to learn the basics of embroidery so you can take more advanced courses in the future.

Shibori Scarves Online

Learn the Japanese Shibori technique from the comfort of your home. All you need are a few easy-to-obtain materials and you can follow along with the instructor's steps to create beautiful, intricate patterns on fabric that will captivate you and leave you begging for more!  

Calligraphy/Mixed Media

Learn the basics of calligraphy, involving different alphabet styles, with individualized instruction. Create projects using watercolor and various media combined with calligraphy.  

Floral Design Workshop

Learn the basic principles and mechanics of floral design using fresh flowers, and create lovely flower arrangements to take home. This class is for beginners as well as the advanced students and features different arrangements each time. 

Wedding Floral Design Workshop

Are you planning a wedding and would like to make the flowers yourself?  In this workshop you'll learn about the care and handling of wedding flowers, types of flowers to use, how to determine how many stems to buy, and a working timeline. Learn how to make a bridal bouquet, corsage, boutonniere, and centerpiece. 

Watercolor Painting-All Levels

For beginners or continuing students refining their watercolor skills, this class will be filled with technical information, demonstrations, individual instruction and lots of time to paint. Learn brush handling, color theory and watercolor techniques such as washes, glazes and textural effects. Choose subject matter from photos, book references or still lifes as the class explores painting styles from realism to abstract.
